Lovely Opi Gel Nails Vs Shellac – Gel nail polish is a gel which comes in pot or a bottle. The gel fluid is painted into the nail in precisely the same way that normal nail polish is, but it is easier as it levelling and you won’t leave brush strokes. Each coat of gloss is cured under a LED lamp for 15 to 60 seconds or a UV lamp for 2 to three minutes (based on the gloss lamp and brand).
This process sets the gel into a solid state. The polish doesn’t dry until it goes beneath the lamp, therefore any slips are much more easy to fix. After curing, the gel gloss is completely hard, but may have a layer ready to bond into the layer. Additional coats may be applied after each layer is treated.

Gel polish is not bad for your nails. Reports of nail damage from gel polish can be common but this is often caused by elimination — for example if polish is pulled/picked off or nails are scraped during the removal process.
To keep nails healthy, it’s a good idea to use cuticle oil to your nails after each removal procedure (this applies to regular nail polish also). Cuticle oil will help to nourish the nail bed and encourage growth. If you are applying another gel manicure straight off you don’t use the oil until afterwards.
